Coming Mid-Late 2025

If you are ready to start your birth prep journey, you’ll be looking for the best antenatal classes in Cumbria. Hypnobirthing is a great option which encompasses all the “usual” birth education you’d expect, but also addresses the most common fears you might have. The reason hypnobirthing is so popular is that it doesn’t just think about what happens during birth, but also how you are going to feel about it.

Ali is an experienced midwife, and has been teaching antenatal classes in Cumbria since 2017. She knows exactly how important it is for you to feel excited, prepared and confident about your baby’s imminent arrival. So if you are looking for a course that will help you get there, sign up below or join a FREE taster session to find out more.

Kendal group courses are new for 2024 and will take place at The Fellside Centre on Low Fellside. Upcoming dates are listed below, or see a summary of availability at all venues (including Carlisle, Penrith and Online groups) by following this link.

Can’t thank you enough for teaching me. I think I would have been terrified... I feel prepared now

Hypnobirthing Kendal: FAQs

  • Group hypnobirthing sessions with Alison start at £275 per couple. This includes all materials and ongoing support as listed above. Having a baby can seem like an expensive process, so if a payment plan would suit you better - just get in touch Here

  • Your birth education should be led by you and your own needs. As a guide, most couples will wait until after their 20 week scan but if you would like to start earlier than that, you are more than welcome!

Hypnobirthing, unlike other antenatal courses, is more effective the more time you have to practice so starting early works well for many pregnant people. However it is never too late and Alison has taught couples even in the very final days/weeks of pregnancy. Get in touch if you’re pushed for time and/or a tailored private course might help you.

  • Online (self-taught) courses or books are a great option if groups classes aren’t convenient, but when working with an instructor like Alison the process is much more tailored and interactive. The added value of attending either a group or private class is priceless. Ali will make sure your SPECIFIC concerns are addressed, and support you through the implementation of all the techniques according to your own circumstances. You also get the added bonus of her extra content and the support of your fellow group members (Ali sets up a Whatsapp group for all the parents in each group). If cost is prohibitive for you, please don’t be shy to get in touch, subsidised places are sometimes on offer.

  • You can find dates of all upcoming group classes on our Courses page, as well as the regular FREE taster sessions. If a private class suits you better, head to the Contact Page.

  • All my classes are designed to be inclusive and TBU pride themselves on providing courses that suit the needs of all new parents regardless of age, sex, gender, beliefs etc. If you have particular questions please let me know.

With regards to accessibility, The Fellside Centre is unfortunately not fully accessible to disabled clients as there are steps into the building and up to the bathrooms. That said, I will always do my best to accommodate you so don’t be shy to let me know what you need. If you have any particular worries please do Contact me for more information on the best options.
